There was no camera; not deliberate but I had conveniently forgotten to bring one. Surprising.
There was also no agenda, no destination, no hurry.
Day 1
I arrived mid day and was greeted by an unexpected heat. Air-conditioning in the car or anywhere didn't help a bit. Made my way to the home of 2 friends, at 2.30pm, who had worked overnight and felt a tingling guilt of awaking them. After a short break of 3 hours, I was out to meet an old pal, ES, for dinner and, perhaps, a quick drink. The weather was crazy - it was unbearable heat a minute and heavy downpour the next. I was, however, not a bit affected. With a huge umbrella, I made my way to town on foot and in the rain. Bliss.
ES and I had to catch up and we did, in fact, more than ever - on work and our lives in highlights. We chattered on the whole night. We had a nice Thai dinner and a light drinking session after that. It was 2am when ES walked me back. Knowing my 'housemates' were still out working, he made a kind suggestion to lounge in the hall while I could sleep, in peace, in the room. It was 4am when we finally caved in to the sleepy bugs.
Day 2
I woke early at 7am and was tip-toeing around. He needed sleep. I did some work on my lappie and when I was just about done, ES woke to find me working. We had breakfast down at the cafe below and he left for home at 10am. It's nice to have the company of friends you'd know you could rely on at times like this - his company I appreciated though somewhat rare.
I got myself cosy on the living room couch. Had the intention of book-shopping but the weather got the better of me. I stayed in, turned on the TV and read my book. Those were completely peaceful hours. Sitting in by the glaring sunshine and breathtaking view from the balcony, I was breathing, a sense of relief.
By the time I snapped out from my book, it was 2pm and I was sorta starved after a 4hour reading marathon. I took a slow walk out to get some puff pastries thinking it would be good for the other 2 when they returned home from their 21 hours shift with no rest in between.
3 sharp and they were home. Panda eyed, messy-haired and battle-beaten bodies. Poor pals.
They quickly took their showers and some food and headed to bed. I stole a 2hour nap and continued reading from 5pm - 10pm. Amazing. It felt like a good day where time stood still. I was unhurried and truly happy.
The whole time I was also communicating with the husband via my iPod. Keeping him in the loop and for the guilt of leaving him behind, yet again. I also gave him a Valentine's mission.
11pm, after a 7 hour rest, they were up and we were out and dashing for food.. real cooked food! We were back home by 1am and were sipping drinks with mindless topics and for them, some TV. I said sipping. *lol*
Day 3
Amazing. I woke to find it was 12noon. When was the last time I slept like this? *embarrased* We had a late Dim Sum lunch and a quick book-shopping and was back home by 4. They needed more sleep. Believe you me, we napped till 9.30pm when I woke to find something noisy going on in my tummy - hunger.
Dinner was a good Lamb Shank from the street near their home. Fragrant, tender and absolutely unforgettable. I love Lamb Shanks. Oh, I had my lamb with Pina Colada! I love Pina Colada.. I always do. Songs and stories about and revolving Pina Colada.... but I have never really tried it. Finally, I did today. Breakthrough.
After that, I even had my taste of Margaritas and a few quick margaritas later - made our day.
But we didn't get to sleep until 5am.. there were noisy chatters and loud hearty laughter roaring through the apartment by the 2 girls; one of which, was me.
Day 3
My favourite day - Valentine's.
No one really understood why Valentine's Day meant so much to me, not even the husband. It just do. I love everything about Valentine's day. Though I have never truly celebrated a Valentine's Day out with fancy meals, extravagant flowers or romantic trips or any major or minor surprises... being practical, we'd always say.. don't celebrate Valentine's Day on Valentine's Day .. but I am still loving it. So accept it!
My flight out was at 5pm and I was ferried to the airport at 2.30pm.
What have I accomplished or have out from this trip? Peace. Lots and lots of peace.

Home, I am expecting the husband to show me a 3 or 4 course dinner! He only managed the main course! *lol* But it was appreciated! He'd never failed on any requests I made and I am now waiting to show you the pictures of his creation - Hawaiian Pork Chop, at my request! Chef Goh loves cooking.. I should give him other missions next time round. Maybe a handmade card sunds good ya.? *wink*
