For someone who is the first time visiting Bangkok, he is still not the BEST of the BEST yet! I was just like him when I first visited Bangkok.. everything was cheap, everything I also feel like having.. BUT this time round on this trip, I was not as excited on the shopping, with the fact that I couldn't buy much clothes as I could not wear them to work (I need to wear what my company sells), I was also more interested in enjoying a holiday with Jason than the shopping itself!

I very much enjoyed my meals, all my meals & food on the trip! I didn't get to eat as much fruits as I had planned because of our odd meal times but I managed to down a rockmelon & Mango sticky rice along the way.
.
Though there were many many new malls now in Bangkok, my favourite remains Siam Square & Little Siam. Those big malls like Siam Paragon, or Central World did not excite me probably I am not a branded freak nor a high-end shopaholic. I am more of a cheapo junkie. I am one who prefer to buy more & have variety than buy one that is expensive!

I guess for Jason, he hardly pampers himself & on this trip he was able to. With the fact that everything was in Thai Baht, he was able to stretch the dollar with each purchases!

MY FAVOURITE BUY
I stumbled upon these cute An*a Sui-lookalike dressing table accessories in a cutie shop along Siam Square & I knew I had to get one of those! I could not decide between a handheld mirror & a container. It must have been my expressions of over-excitement that Jason came over & tell me, "Buy the whole set if you'd like them, they are not expensive."
.
At this moment I started to visualise my own dressing table decorated up just like A*na Sui Cosmetics Counter & I got really excited. I pulled out a table mirror, a box & a container, then a comb. I AM A HAPPY GIRL!
.
Then I bought another 2 necklaces, both of which has pendants that are miniatures of dressing table & handheld mirror respectively! I went hysterical. I wanted them! So Jason got them for me!!!

I guess it must be his 2 ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB polo tees (from top to bottom, the 2 stripe ones).
.
He turned into a cute kiddo when he found the Arsenal Shop in Central World. He was so excited & I could see & even feel JOY in his tone & body Language! I knew I had to encourage him to get those stuff. SO from the store he got 2 polo-tees, 2 shot-glasses. He was even happier when they put his merchandise in a Arsenal Plastic bag!

Each of those polo-tee only cost him S$30++.

Travelling with Jason makes me feel safe. He's got all plans & itinerary laid out. So I was basically on holiday & my mind was just shut off. I knew he would plan it all.

BKK - 13 Oct

Today is the day I have to say goodbye to my Bangkok. I am alittle sad & alittle lost. The only question that flooded my thoughts was WHEN AM I COMING BACK?
.
Breakfast as usual except today I want to EAT with feel.. *so drama*.. Daddy arranged to pick us up about 1pm for lunch then walk around alittle before sending us to the airport.
.
He came around 12pm & since we were ready, we set off. He brought us to a very nice authentic thai eating place that sells Goose Specialty. It is a coffeeshop kind of place located somewhere near Lat Phrao.. I recalled it was about 35minutes drive from our hotel. We had sauteed fish maw, bitter gourd soup (double-boiled & was not-at-all bitter), & mixed vegetables & of course, a plate of GOOSE!!!
The coffeeshop was interesting in the sense that it had 2 obvious sides, one of them was air-conditioned, the other was not & surprisingly more people sat at the non-aircon section! I asked my dad if we needed to pay more for the aircon section & his reply was negative.

The dishes were yummy!

Who could bring you to taste authentic Thai food then someone who has been there long enough? The meal costs about S$30 & was cheap.
.
After the feast, Daddy brought us to Central near Lat Phrao. Jason went for his massage & Daddy & me went walking around enjoying our bonding time. We all sat down for coffee before he sent us to the Airport.

Finally.. a shot of US at Starbucks! I kind of feel Daddy looks more & more like a Thai & he even dresses like one!

I felt really sad when we arrived at the airport & had to say goodbye.. anyway, let's hope he comes back to Singapore this month! I think I am getting old.. I even feel emotional like that!

We were early. So we fooled around taking pics & looked for food!

We went to a Chinese Snack place & ordered a Popiah with silent hopes that it may taste like those we ate at MK restaurant but we were very much disappointed. The food was not nice & throughout my whole Bangkok trip, this was the worse meal! The Gyoza was too saltish & my Lychee in Syrup was not icy enough! Jason had no complaints of his Thai Iced Tea.

As reluctant as I could be, we boarded the plane & headed on to his home where I stayed the night ... finally can see my DOG!!!!! Another reason to be happy!

BKK - 12 Oct

Today is Friday. Jason wanted to visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Though my memory didn't fail me, I had thought that Chatuchak only opens on Saturdays & Sundays.. but according to Jason, whom has been faithfully flipping the book, claimed the market opens on Fridays too. Perhaps.
.
As usual, we are entitled to sleep late until the body & mind think the sleep is enough & well-deserved! Haha... & as usual Usual.. Jason would get up much earlier than me .. I wonder what he was doing.. surfing the net, soaking himself in the bath.. OH.. Men simply love bath-tub, don't they?
.
I rose from my beauty sleep at 9am.. took a HOT HOT HOT shower & we headed for our breakfast.

Besides the usual eggs & sausages.. today I also tried their noodles soup. Sour & yummy! LOVED IT!

.

I must say the spread the hotel provided for breakfast is way surpassed the description decent! & YES, being in Bangkok means to live like a queen.. which means the accommodation MUST be comfortable.. hehehe.. look who's talking?!

.
So we headed out to the train station.. Chatuchak is only 5 stations away. Though I have been there many times & I knew I have nothing to buy or see there, I thought for Jason, anyone who visits Thailand.. Chatuchak is probably a must-visit.. just like the fact that you'd invite tourist to visit Sentosa in Singapore.
.
Sadly, most of the stores were not opened when we reached there. We didn't spend more than 1 hour there. I also explained to Jason that whatever he would like to get from Chatuchak, he would be able to get them in MBK or else where too. It was just the experience of being there that matters.
.
We went for a quick caffeine-recharge at the JJ Mall right beside Chatuchak. JJ Mall is simply a mini Chatuchak in an air-con building! Gosh... how can anyone ever finish shopping!?
.
We went to Cafe Kaldi at level 1 of JJ Mall.

It was an empty coffee place. but interesting. They have a corner where they displayed coffee beans from all over the world.. they had Siam, India & many many others.. could not remember off hand. However, they all looked the same to me. I am sure even if you'd ask me to smell them, they would've smell the same to me too. No wonder I ain't no expert. They also housed a huge coffee grinding machine I think behind where we were seated.. it looked huge & spectacular.. but my question is.. I thought coffee bean grinders are really small!

Nice ambiance though. All timber & light-colored fabrics & all these just gave the cafe a relaxed yet elegant feel. I also loved their timber venetian blinds.. I want one of those for me new home! But I know they are costly!

After JJ Mall & Chatuchak Market, we looked for the Skytrain Station at Mo Chit & took the train down to Siam Station again. We went to MBK. Jason has things he would like to get from there & of course on the way I managed to find some little things that I liked.
.
For any tourist in Bangkok, you can't help but to notice a restaurant named MK. It is their local Steamboat Restaurant just like Coca in Singapore. So, I brought Jason there though he is not exactly a steamboat fan BUT how can anyone not try MK if they visit Bangkok?!
.
We went to the one at MBK, though u had very much liked to try the 3-storey one along at Siam Square. We ordered so much & paid less than S$25.

We had fish, squid, vegetables, shrimps, beef, chicken, pork, fishballs, mushrooms, toufu & many many more!!!! It was YUMMY especially the air-conditioning in the malls are horribly COLD + its rainy season!! Hmm.. warmed my tummy!


Loved the Oysters specially! They gave me fresh lemon juice with garlic & chilli padi to go with the oyster! COOL!!!! Every bite just makes me want more....!!!!

hahahaha, after the hearty, warming meal.. it was more shopping.. Jason's legs never got tired I wonder why.
.
I was telling him, whenever we made our way to Orchard Road or downtown on weekends, if we ever get out of home, I'd usually not survived anything more than 2 hours.. we'd usually head on home within 4 hours & that would be enough to make me tired for another few more days..., but over here, we leave the hotel & shopped till 10pm every night yet the hours just passed by so quickly! It's strange, isn't it?

Perhaps that's the difference between a weekend off & a holiday!
.
We went back to the hotel for a short rest at about 6pm because Daddy mentioned he would make his way to meet us today & bring us out for dinner.
.
Dad picked us up about 7pm. He mentioned that Bangkok jams like mad on Fridays & true enough! It took us 1 hour to travel about 3 train stations away.
.
He brought us to the Robinsons Mall at nearby for Japanese Dinner. He had wanted to bring us to sample authentic local foodies but I told him I don't eat much & I was afraid he would over order. So he brought us to Japanese Place. He had wanted to bring me to the Roast Suckling Pig place that he brought me 2 years ago.. a nice, run-down place in the middle of the woods or something. but I was afraid Jason & I could not finish the pig by ourselves. He also suggested the traditional Thai Claypot steamboat that I so loved BUT we just had steamboat in the afternoon.. I wonder if Daddy was disappointed.. However, we enjoyed our Jap Food.. Daddy enjoyed his Jap Nato Rice!

I had Ramen, just right for me.. Soupy stuff!

After that we walked around abit. Daddy went shopping! Hahaha. He bought himself a few tops from Robinsons. Jason then commented my Dad looked really happy perhaps due to the reason I was shopping with him.. its been like ages since we did that! & I was happy to hear that too!!!
.
Then it started to pour again. Daddy sent us back to the hotel & I reminded him to be careful on the wet road home. He would meet us again tomorrow for lunch & such then send us to the airport..
.
SADNESS fills my heart & soul! I must leave Bangkok tomorrow?!!!!

BKK - 11 Oct

This morn we rise at about 9am.. went down to have our breakfast! They have a wonderful spread of variety from local to international breakfast. I would usually eat my standard 2 toast, 2 eggs, 2 sausage & baked beans! This never fails to perk me up!


We were also flipping the FREE book that I got from the Singapore-Thai Embassy before we came on the trip which housed information of shopping malls, entertainment, hotels & much more.

& of course in my land of Paradise, I must doll up to feel good! hehehehehe! EXCLAIMING Hair Curling or straightening Iron are FUN FUN FUN!
.
Today we had planned to visit the Erawan Shrine (the four-faced buddha shrine) beside the train station Chitlom.
.
We took a train from our hotel's nearest station Ratchadapisek Station & changed to the skytrain at Asok Station & took the skytrain all the way to Chitlom. All in all we travelled around 10 stations. The train rides cost us both about B240 to & from the hotel.

When we arrived at the Chitlom station, we needed to walked abit to our destination. I was quite excited that they had these elevated passageway linking most of the malls along this road. Main buildings like the Hyatt Erawan, Gaysorn, Central World etc were all linked to this elevated passageway & I found this a nice way to overlook the city rather than underground passageway that we have in Singapore. I guess in a way, these elevated walkways also helped ease traffic.
.
We went to the Shrine, said our prayers, made our offerings & went over to the Central World Mall. It was a huge mall that used to be called the World Trade Center. I remembered the World Trade Centre as an old, big & empty mall.
.
After afew hours of shopping, we decided to pamper ourselves with some cool ice-blended smoothie! & of course YET AGAIN, Jason exclaimed CHEAP CHEAP at the prices we paid for the things we got. My Berry Smoothie really contained real fruits inside! Each Smoothie cost about B60 to B80.. here's my fruity one & his chocolatey one - exactly what sets men apart from women.

Jason's Shopping Monster also got more furious at Central Mall where he seemed to become another person I did not know. He also transformed into this excited little kiddo when he found the Arsenal Store.. (as in the football club specialty store). He tried on a few tops & also purchased them. He even bought their glasses. I always wonder what kind of love & passion men have for their favourite football club... I could never understand. It's just like if i idolize i.e. ABBA, does it mean I would wear their printed T-Short? I don't think so.. even so that I idolise Roy Cheong so much, I don;t think I'll ever wear his face on any part of me... So.. I really do not understand. Enlighten me, somebody? Help?

After Central Mall, we walked to Little Siam & Siam Square. I brought Jason for a much talked-about lunch. I knew of this place from my aunt who brought me there the last time I went to Bangkok 2 years ago.
It was a small, cramped & over-crowded place BUT the business is really good! We ate at odd hour about 4-ish thai time & the restaurant was packed. BUT the food were GREAT! We ordered a noodles, a fish, chicken soup & rice all for less than S$15. Jason also commented the food was great. I was happy because I was the one who brought him there! They are famous for their chicken wings! It is a MUST-TRY! Fried till Crispy-skinned with garlic & more. YUMMY!
.
After the hearty meal, it was shopping time again! We went back to MBK & Jason went for his long-awaited massage.

Here is the evidence. It was Thai Massage & cost B300 for 1 hour. He was thrilled. He always has back & neck ache problems.
.
When he was having his body touched & rubbed by another woman, I was busy looking for stuff for his family. He wanted to get them something from Thailand as they also helped me look after my dog for so many days. Lucky they'd help us with it & they love my dog!
.
& Bangkok just gave me another reason to love the city! They even have cabs in PINK! *hahahahahaha.. so nice!*
.
Before we went back to the hotel, we stopped by at Dunkin Donuts for a drink & rest MY tired feet! Well, he had his share of massage & so he was not eligible for the rest!

.

I would never fail to drop by or eat at Dunkin whenever I am in Bangkok.. & I think I only like their Siam Square outlet.. facing the busy shoppers' paradise & engulfef by shoppers both local & foreigners! We got 6 donuts for takeaway & it only costs B109 which is about S$4. COOL!

When we got back to the hotel, we have a complimentary fruit basket that has got banana in it, I grabbed one & place the nice banana on top of my chocolate donut!!!!! So CLEVER!

We didn't have dinner BUT had donuts because our meal times are so odd here.

.

It has been raining heavily everyday throughout. So the weather remains cool BUT wet. But it didn't affect my mood. I was & am so caught up with the fact that I am back in my Bangkok & this time .. with my Jason!

.

So... I am simply HAPPY!
