Day 1 - 8 July [Part 1 Arrival]

The day finally came with much anticipation! We were pretty fortunate. Our flight was oringinally booked for afternoon but Jetstar moved us to a morning flight due to some .... issues. *yeay yeay!*
.
Flight scheduled to depart at 7.30am, we gotta eat before that, or rather, I'd have to eat with my gastric condition! Here's out usual breakfast before we take any flights in the morning.
.
Killiney at Terminal One
His and mine usual! Make a guess who's eating and drinking what?? *lol*
.
J knew I'd have a miserable time on flight.. any flight, I hate flights! Especially budget flights as there are no movies or food.. being the sweetest him, he downloaded some movies I'd watch into his littly toy - iTouch.. So, I caught Shutter Island on the way there! A 4 hour flight like this.. gosh... :P I have my own entertainment too, my book, my journal.. and I had to eat! Thank goodness it wasn't a full flight and we had the whole row to ourselves! An empty seat in between meant I was able to 'exercise' and stretch!

Entire Row to ourselves!

Eating on a budget flight is nothing 'budget' about it.. expensive!
'Are we there yet?? How long more???'

We finally touched down in Taipei Tao Yuan International Airport at 12.30pm! The airport immediately reminded me of the 70's where everything is tiled, yellowish and in Chinese! *lol*
It was Terminal One and I think there is expansion and upgrading going on.. but truly retro to me!
.
We had to look for the bus to the city. Then I realised J could not read their Chinese characters! *funny* WE went to seek help at a counter and they directed us to a bus company that'd drop us in town area for NT$140 (SGD 6.40) each. One thing good about travelling with J, he is good with navigating maps and figuring out public transport system like complicated trains and all.. so, I'd always get a taste of their lifestyle rather than us taking taxis everywhere!

Here's the man in the retro bus!

And here's one for the road!.. after hours of eyebags, wrinkles and messy hair!

This retro but pretty comfy bus dropped us at Song Jiang Road after about half an hour's ride and
we'd have to change to another bus that'd take us into the area we were staying at... Xi Men Ding!!!
Pretty fortunate, the bus dropped us just 5 steps to where our Hotel is.
located at 台北市長沙街2段42號 - Q Stay.

Talk more about the hotel in the next post.. *smiles*
