18 Dec - Jetaway to Getaway

4am - My alarm went off after having closed my eyes and mind for 4 hours. Tired. I haven't had much sleep lately.

We'd planned to leave home by 5am so we could arrive at the budget terminal by 5.45am for breakie. J's Aunt was already there waiting for us at 5.35am. We had a quick breakfast at MacDonald's and all documents were cleared by 6.15am.

Sitting there my memory flashed back to a week before when I was flying off to KL. Memories. They come in and out like the tide on you, without warning; but its all good.

7am - the sky was perfect with streaks of romantic amber stirred in amongst the perfect blue. Breathtaking. At the apron, I simply couldn't let the opportunity slip by and I stopped to ask the security person if I could take a shot out here.

"No." - I kinda guessed and now totally resigned. A pity.

7.30am - we were in the skies.

Sin 10.30am / Thai 9.30am - we cleared the immigration and was looking for the driver whom was arranged to pick us. He led us to his vehicle parked across in the multi-storey car park. The moment the glass door slided open... OMG! Bangkok had its air-con turned on and it felt like 24degrees outdoor to me. Chilly!

I have been to Bangkok sooooo many times and this is definitely the first chilly one.. interesting!

His Pad - The Empire Place

Sin 11.15am / Thai 10.15am - The driver sent us to Sathorn and alighted us at The Empire Place. A seemingly luxurious condominium, service apartment and part resort in the middle of Sathorn area - a 'Singapore-Shenton Way-equivalent'.

It's a 3-bedroom apartment. Fully equipped - air-conditioned, wi-fi, Wii, cable TV, attached bathrooms in all bedrooms, kitchen, balcony...

The balcony I loved the most and at nights it was 'freezing' for me.

An all-white interior with stark black and blue decor.

A pretty bouquet of pink roses. I asked why there were flowers,
"There are guests so I ordered them." - Nice.

Welcome Drink on a Jim Thompsom table setting.

The room he let us have. All neat, prim and proper.

The Fish-tank kitchen and fragments of its content.

Coffee anyone, anytime! Gorgeous machine!

The breathtaking view from the apartment. Don't you think its too picturesque?

The apartment we stayed in was on the 38 floor. It was well-maintained and spotless. No stains, dirt or a single strand of fallen hair!

The pool, on I think 6-7 floor.

Isn't this gorgeous? Don't you just want to dive in??? :)

We spent some time refreshing before we venture out at Sin 1pm / Thai 2pm.
