Today, everyone kind of got up late. Must be due to the work out we all had walking around the whole day like we have never walked in out entire life! *chuckles*
.
First up, my daily bread! We had breakfast at about 9am & H was till sleeping soundly on the living room lounge. He must be really tired from bringing so many of us around & fussing over us.
We only left for Chatuchak in cabs close to 11am..
I was all ready to sweat it out & burn those calories walking & walking! To those who were there for the first time, they must be excited at how cheap everything are in Bangkok, for me, I was excited at how much walking I am having & how many new things & new places to see! We really walked around the market, Jason & I must have bought like 3 or 4 rounds of water & drinks & he was also, sweating profusely while he was indulged in shopping! This was also the first time I spent more than 2 hours at the market! Previously, it was all about eye-opening & not so much of shopping.
I was happily looking around at things but I had no urge whatsoever to buy things. I was glad I had such control. *proud*
COCONUT Juice!!! Yeah!.
Jason bought a pair of shoes & some tees. We also managed to buy a bag to bring HAPPY out. It was really hot, Jason was wearing dry-fit tee but look at how wet it was.. ironic.
I didn't know there were free rides within Chatuchak Park in these buggy-lookalike vehicles! The family were also dog-lovers & we made our way to the Pets Section to take a look at those poor pups & kittens on sale. These poor pups were so young & I wonder if they would die from distemper & germs of people handling them as they have not yet have their vaccination I supposed! Pups only get their first vaccination when they are 3 months old & these poor pups looked much younger than that. BUT THEY WERE JUST SO ADORABLE! sad... I miss my HAPPY!
When they shopped enough, H brought us to a little air-conditioned cafe within the Chatuchak market itself.. I was quite thrilled! There it was hidden amongst those endless rows of vendors & it had air-con! What a brilliant & clever strategy to lure customers in after they sweat themselves out silly shopping!
The interior felt like some rustic cowboy's parlour! Very western, cramped but cooling! I liked the ambient.
The food were so-so & we didn't order much as it was an odd time of the day for either lunch or dinner. We ordered Pineapple fried rice. Spicy Papaya Salad with Fried Fish (this one yummy!) and of course, Mango with sticky rice (this one double-yummy!)! .
K had gone crazy shopping, he bought 2 pairs of shoes, many tees & I couldn't remember what else! So did Jason's mum! *ha ha!*
.
We all took the MRT from the Chatuchak Park Station to Sukhumvit Station to either get a cab or change to the BTS (Asok) back to the apartment. These pictures taken at the MRT Station.

.
As we were all covered in perspiration, we were all dying to head back for a quick shower before another round later. I even had time to chow down fruits!

.
On today's itinerary & also one of the objective of the trip , we were also to bring Jason's dad to the tailor. H suggested Sukhumvit as he had been there for suit-making previously. We left our apartment at 6pm & took the Skytrain to Phrom Phong Station where the Huge 'Branded' mall The Emporium was. From there we walked about 15 mins & found a row of older buildings with many tailor shops. H brought us to one named STYLO MART.. yes I know the name did sound lame to me too. They helped dad choose fabric & the tailor took the measurement. The suit was for our wedding & I was really quite happy.
A suit with pants we made there cost only S&175 & they provided 24 hrs service if you wished. SO i would say it was really worth the price. .
After the hoo-ha in with the tailor (6 person barged in & only making 1 suit! hahaha!) we went in cabs for dinner with my 'Thai' dad at Phram 3 (Rama 3), Soi 14, a famous riverside restaurant named Baan Klang Nam.
It was a really beautiful restaurant by the river - the perfect setting for a seafood dinner!
They have air-con & non-air-con seatings & we took the latter. AS you could probably make out from the pic, the air-con seating were actually inside a attap-lookalike structure.. I didn't go in to take a peek but I am sure it should be very interesting. The breeze from the river - Chao Phraya River was also cooling & serene at this hour. I was busy looking around snapping pictures than really enjoying the food itself, well, I am not so much of a seafood person but I really liked this place!
We also sat at the end, right by the waters. For one moment, we could almost re-enact the 'You Jump, I Jump!' scene!
We had really wonderful menu of seafood specialties - we had scallops
Fried Bittergourd Leaves (another Thai authentic vegetables, lightly spiced)
Prawns
Shrimp Cakes & Fried Black Pepper Fish (this one I love!)

.
The funny thing about this restaurant was that it was tucked right at then end of a cramped residential street. When the cabby turned into Soi 14, Jason & I wondered why the cab turned into such a residential lane filled with landed houses & only 1 vehicle can move at a time on this one-way lane. It was a dark & long skinny lane. When we finally came to the end of the lane, we saw men waving & signalling for the cars to move on so that the skinny lane were kept smooth flowing.. we got off the cab & walked abit & saw the LIGHTS!
At first I was pretty worried my dad couldn't find the place, but he showed up anyway! *smiles* .
To me, it was a wonderful family dinner. Everything was interesting. A happy day for me.
.
We head back to the Apartment after that.
